Travel Destination
The land is situated amongst layers of rugged mountainous terrain. The Belu stream flows down the mountain to the area where the Lawpita hydroelectric power plant is located, the main electricity supplier to the national grid. One can also appreciate the site of the Taung Kwel Pagoda (Silver Mountain). The Mawchi Mines and Marble Works can also be found in the region. The capital city is Loikaw and the Zay (market) is named Mingalar Zay. One can find natural produce and other goods such as carpets, linoleum sheets, straw mats, umbrellas, rain coats, TV sets, VCDs and DVDs, plastic goods, stores, goldsmiths and shops and glassware shops can be found.

Until recently, travel to the state was heavily restricted. It is situated in heavy mountainous terrain, with many streams. The State is famous for bird watching enthusiasts of the many species which can be seen.
