The major oil producing region. The printing of bank notes is carried out at Wazi. The essence of Myanmar culture is rooted here within Beik Tha Noe town. Mann Shwe Set Taw pagoda is situated here including Pa Khnag Nge school and most notably and significantly where the resistance to the British colonialists took place. Apart from being famous as the produces of groundnut oil, there are other industries spread over the area.The main ones are Myo Ma Zay Gyi, Yan Pal Zay(Marker), Mingalar Zay, Man Myo Zay and Yankin Zay. All types of consumables and home appliances are available.
TRAVEL ADVISORY
One can travel by road on the highway from Yangon to Bagan and Mandalay. Also available is the river mode of transportation. Since the summer months are extremely hot and winter extremely cold, it is advisable to wear appropriate clothing to suit the weather conditions. Smoking is prohibited when street walking. Magway Mya Thalun Pagoda and Minbu Shwesettaw are famous destinations in Magway.
