Precious Lights was founded when three young Myanmar entrepreneurs met a visionary Singaporean, who strongly believes LED will change the world of lighting. They work tirelessly to find the most optimal lighting solution for Myanmar, a country with very unique characteristics of its electrical power grid and distribution. After several exploration trips, Precious Lights was founded with a clear mission – to produce special design LED lighting solutions that address Myanmar's unique requirements:

- Minimal energy consumption, as Myanmar has electricity shortage in key cities

- Robust power design that can withstand severe voltage fluctuations

- Offer various solutions, be it value for money or best quality

- Provides longer life lighting and minimal maintenance solutions.

Vision

We believe energy efficiency is critical especially in developing countries such as Myanmar due to energy security or energy shortage. We envision to light up every cities and villages in Myanmar with minimal energy consumption, reduced maintenance, and minimal long term total cost of ownership.

This vision, bring us together to a mission of not just sell lighting devices, but provide lighting solutions that are suitable for each customer’s unique environment and business requirements.  Our engineers will study each customer’s business requirements in details and propose a customized solution with either minimal energy consumption or optimal maintenance or both to achieve lowest Total Cost of Ownership. If needs to, our engineers can work closely with our strategic partner factories and co-design special products for customers who requires them.

Technology

LED (Light Emitting Diode)

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source.  LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are now being increasingly used for other lighting.

Introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962, early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the infrared, visible to ultraviolet.

- LEDs present many advantages over incandescent light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size, and faster switching.

- LEDs that are powerful enough for room lighting have relatively higher initial cost and they require more precise current and heat management than compact fluorescent lamp sources of comparable output.

- LEDs are used in various applications such as aviation lighting, automotive lighting, advertising, general lighting, and traffic signals.

- LEDs have allowed new text, video displays, and sensors to be developed, while their high switching rates are also useful in advanced communications technology. Infra-red LEDs are also used in the remote control units of many commercial products including televisions, DVD players, and other domestic appliances.
