SMVTI (Singapore - Myanmar Vocational Training Institute) is a joint governments’ project between Singapore and Myanmar. SMVTI vision itself as “A model Institution for Technical and Vocational Education and Career”. Our mission is “to provide practice-oriented training to equip Myanmar youths and adult learners with industry-relevant skills for employment”.
There are ten courses currently offering for those who passed matriculation exam (high school graduates). School of Hospitality and Tourism is offering Front Office Operation, Housekeeping Operation, Restaurant Operation and Retail Operation courses while Schools of Engineering are offering Electrical Technology, Electronics (Computer Networking), Residential Air-Conditioning, Building Fixtures & Equipment, General Welding, and Mechatronics (Basic Services) courses.
All courses are six-months, full-time, practice-oriented courses. Yearly, there are two intakes, in May and November. Course counselling is provided when admissions open in February (May Intake) and August (November Intake).
Two governments are subsidising the cost of the training for development of skilled workers for Myanmar economy. Student have to pay for their personal stuffs such as notes, uniform Polo T-Shirts, safety shoes, cover-all, personal protective equipments, etc.
This training is suitable for Myanmar youths, those who want to learn a vocational skills and want to go for a work in shorter time.
