Mountainous with deep valleys. One can witness the formation of ice flowing from the hills right to the base. The climate is extremely cold. Famous for many rare species of birds and very rare species of orchids. Hakha is the capital and where the main market is situated. Human labour is the driving force due to the difficult terrain. To the north east is Sagaing and to the south is Magwe and Rakhine States. Chin textiles are particularly famous, especially blankets produced through the traditional method of hand weaving.
