Situated at the confluence of two rivers – May Kah and Ma Li Kha. Throughout the year one experiences heavy fog. It boasts the highest Mount Hkakaborazi. There are also other mountains such as Hpone Kan Razi for trekking tours. Also famous for jade and gold deposits. The largest lake, Indaw Gyi lake is situated in the region. One can enjoy the ever popular Ma Naw Pwe (festival). The capital city is Myitkyina. The Kachin Manaw Festival is also another interesting culture of the ethnic groups of Myanmar. The festival is held to coincide with the State Day in January.
