Mandalay is known for the famous Mandalay Palace of the last surviving Royal Dynasty. The division boasts many places of historical significance, being, Phya Taung, Bagan (land of ancient pagodas), Mogok, famous for its gems and precious stones, the awesome Mount Popa, invigorating Pyin Oo Lwin and the famous U Bein bridge, all to be savoured by the foreign tourists.The second international airport was built in Mandalay, a second international gateway to Myanmar. It is well known for the silk weaving industry of Achiek or the traditional Myanmar longyis. Mandalay has an abundance of markets, the most prominent being the Zay Cho market. The Pyi Gyi Dagone district has a collection of markets, notable one being the Chan Mya Shwe Pyi market. In the Mindon district, there is Nyaung Bin Lay market, Saya San market, Nya (night) market, Tagon Tain market, Set Hmu, Mingalar market, Nan Myo market and Hti Taung market, which are the popular ones. The Myo Ma market is the main supplier of goods to other districts in Mandalay.
